The Purpose for which this Corporation is organized is to foster the development and growth of amateur volleyball competition by:
Teaching the sport of volleyball to children and adults by holding clinics conducted by qualified instructors;
Aiding in development and growth of volleyball throughout the region through player, officiating (referee and scorekeeper), and coaching development;
Providing practice sessions, classroom sessions, seminars, and clinics;
Fostering and coducting area, regional, zonal, and national amateur volleyball competitions for both touth and adult player levels throughout the region;
Acting as the official representative of USA Volleyball within the area designed as the Alaska Volleyball Region;
Selecting and training suitable candidates in the techniques of volleyball in National and International competitions in areas of playing, coaching, and officiating;
Supervising and monitoring conduct of competitions and individuals involved in volleyball within the region.
Alaska Volleyball Regional (AVR) Governance
The USA Volleyball Association Alaska Region Volleyball Association, commonly referred to as The Alaska Volleyball Region (AVR), is incorporated by the laws of the State of Alaska as a 501c(3) Non-Profit. The Region recognizes and adopts any penalties imposed by USA Volleyball Ethics & Eligibility Committee. The completed IRS Form 990 is available upon request by email.

Gender Diversity Policy
The Alaska Volleyball Region (AVR) Gender Identity Policy has been adopted from the Alaska State Board of Education Policy.
Philosophy of Gender Identity Participation
The Alaska Volleyball Region (AVR) encourages participation for athletes regardless of their gender identity or expression. Further, most local, state, and federal rules and regulations require youth sports organizations to provide transgender and other gender-diverse athletes with equal opportunities to participate in sport. The purpose of this policy is to offer clarity with respect to the participation of trans and gender-diverse athletes. Additionally, this policy encourages a culture in which athletes can compete in a safe and supportive environment, free from discrimination.
