The Alaska Volleyball Association (AVA) is a Junior Olympic and a nonprofit
organization for high school and junior high youth which resides in the Northeast
Anchorage and Mat-Su Borough, Alaska. It is the desire of the AVA to establish
a club that is a credit to its members, local educational institutions, coaches,
parents and the community. AVA provides high school and junior high youth with
the opportunity to develop volleyball skills and to play volleyball, with quality
coaching, in a learning environment that promotes self-discipline, good sportsmanship,
leadership, character development, and personal integrity. AVA was established
in 1990. Most if not all practices will be held
in the players' local area (Mat-Su Valley or Eagle River/Chugiak) to minimize
transportation issues & costs.
