The girl's volleyball club season runs from December through mid April for girls ages 9 to 18. There are 2 practices a week in the evenings and one tournament a month on Saturdays, January through April. Team tryouts occur in late November or early December. These are low cost, minimal cut tryouts with a purpose to determine skill level for tentative team placement. Team levels include 18s, 16s, 14s, 13s and 12 & under.

 The Alaska Volleyball Association (AVA) is a Junior Olympic and a nonprofit organization for high school and junior high youth which resides in the Northeast Anchorage and Mat-Su Borough, Alaska.  It is the desire of the AVA to establish a club that is a credit to its members, local educational institutions, coaches, parents and the community. AVA provides high school and junior high youth with the opportunity to develop volleyball skills and to play volleyball, with quality coaching, in a learning environment that promotes self-discipline, good sportsmanship, leadership, character development, and personal integrity.
